The platform baukobox is a knowledge database that is intended to support students and young architects in particular as a source of inspiration and digital tool for researching constructive details using outstanding projects as examples.

In 2021 there was a first contact between the platform, which was being founded at that time, more precisely between one of the two managing directors Dipl.-Ing. Arch. Christian Wolf and AVANCIS. It became clear to us very quickly that we wanted to support and enrich this ambitious project by participating with our facade PV projects.

As our first project we proposed the office and commercial building Westspitze in Tübingen. The baukobox staff contacted the planners from a+r Architekten, who provided the necessary drawings and information to be entered into the database.

As a special feature, interactive construction drawings from renowned architectural firms are thus available in the baukobox, in which individual construction elements can be viewed directly in the installation context and internalized through linked knowledge texts and used to search for inspiration. At the same time, direct links lead from the products to the respective building product manufacturers.

In 2023, together with the second managing director Dipl.-Ing. Arch. Sebastian Lelle, we have added the magnificent Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin to our database. Together with our partner, the company SCHRAG, we were able to equip the research center with a solar facade, which is now used for basic research, long-term monitoring and yield analyses.
